You can gift VIP and Packages to people so there's no point in having a gift card. Furthermore, if you purchase a gift card for £20 and buy something in the store for £18.99, there will never be a chance to spend the excess amount, especially if it's for somebody who doesn't want to spend their real money hence the gift card - this would cause more issues than solutions.

Regarding any issues with cards for payment, it might be worth sending an email to support, corresponding with your bank or getting a new card/account.

That logic makes no sense. By that standard, stores shouldn’t sell gift cards at all because “you can just buy products directly.” The entire point of a gift card is flexibility — people can choose what they actually want instead of being locked into a specific package or VIP option.

And the “£1.01 leftover” argument is weak too. Almost every modern gift card system lets you combine balances or use the remainder later. Tiny leftover balances aren’t some impossible problem that suddenly outweighs the convenience of gift cards.

Also, telling people to “get a new bank account/card” because payments fail is absurdly out of touch. Gift cards exist specifically because not everyone wants to attach personal banking details, deal with international transaction issues, or repeatedly contact their bank over one purchase.

So no, gift cards wouldn’t “cause more issues than solutions.” They solve accessibility and convenience problems that direct payments don’t.

It's honestly crazy that not a single staff member has given any meaningful input on this suggestion. This isn't some niche feature request—it's a payment option that could directly increase revenue and make the game accessible to players who currently can't spend money.

Players are pointing out a problem that actively prevents sales, yet there's been little to no discussion from the people responsible for the game's growth. Every day this goes ignored is another day potential customers are unable to make purchases.

You would think a suggestion that could bring in more paying users and improve accessibility would at least warrant feedback from the team.

I think this option makes a lot of sense tbh. Not sure why moderation wouldn't be looking into more ways to help the game grow. This expands general revenue streams and gives players more payment options. I understand the game's player base is modest at best, but I really don't see how opening up more ways to monetize your platform is a negative thing.

I think it is ridiculous that you are saying more research is required. In this day and age with development tools and Artificial Intelligence available that explanation honestly comes across as an excuse rather than a genuine reason. To me it feels like the team simply does not want to prioritize improving the game. The game is something that I care about. I want to see it get better.

I am a software engineer myself so I understand that features like a gift card payment method are not implemented overnight. They require planning and testing and development. But that is why I am frustrated. This suggestion has been around for such a long time yet nothing meaningful has been done in that direction. The team has had a lot of time to work on this feature.

The only reason I care enough to keep bringing this up is because the game was a part of my childhood. I genuinely want to see the game succeed again. Instead it feels like the focus is on generating revenue from long-time players like me than on making the game as popular and enjoyable as it was back in 2009. I want the game to be fun for everyone not for people who have been playing it for a long time.

Your response does not explain why the feature is not being considered. It just says it needs research, which is something that could be said about virtually any feature. I would rather receive an explanation about the real obstacles than a generic response that does not address the suggestion. I want to know what is really going on with the game and why things are not getting done.

At this point it honestly feels like the teams priorities are focused on monetization than on rebuilding the game into the experience that made so many of us fall in love, with the game in 2009. As a long-time player of the game that is disappointing to see and I hope the team starts putting the level of effort into meaningful improvements as it does into monetization of the game. The game needs to be improved. I hope the team will do that.
