I attempted to contact SmallVerse on this topic, and they advised that I post it here, so here we go!
In short, I am hoping to address the unspoken issue of creating missions in places of business/commercial spaces, for all Smallverse citizens.
The backstory of this is that I have a bakery on Smallverse called The Bon Bon Bakery - a recreation of the bakery I used to own back in the old SW days. Many have remarked upon the cosy, nostalgic feel of the place, and how much they enjoyed spending time there. So, given that, I decided to create a fun mission for the space (which, for context, has since been rejected on the basis that it takes place in a commercial space).
I would like to take this opportunity to point out that, before even creating said mission, I took the time to review the mission guidelines carefully, submit a forum post to other players to double-check in the event that I had overlooked any details on this, and asked other players in-world. I found nothing to say it (i.e. creating a mission in a commercial space) was not allowed. And yet, according to SV, it seems this is an unspoken rule, which is both frustrating and saddening.
Currently, the bakery mission has 26 plays, despite users being made aware that it was pending approval at the time, and would therefore not be rewarded the full amount of 1,000 tokens for their efforts. Regardless, they voluntarily played the mission, and many of them enthusiastically remarked upon how they very much hoped it would be approved, due to enjoying it so much, and that they looked forward to returning to the space for that reason alone. I have actually since had multiple users approach me to remark upon how much they loved the mission, especially the part with the rescue chickens!
I would like to make it clear that my primary reason for creating the mission was not to advertise the space, but to give users a fun activity to amuse them when they visited, regardless of whether or not they made a purchase. And, on this subject, most of the users who completed the mission did not indeed make a purchase.
Given all of this, I do not understand why a mission cannot be made in a place of business, so long as there is no obligation to make a purchase, and this is made clear in any missions that take place/are created there.
Perhaps SmallVerse could reconsider allowing missions in commercial spaces? I have, in fact, brought up this matter with multiple players, and they all agreed that they would take no issue with this.
Surely the freedom of choice should be left with the player? So long as, to reiterate what I said above, there is no pressure to make a purchase, and this is made clear.
