    Raise the Value of Gold

    Hello Everyone

While this might be considered highly controversial,

I implore you to listen to what i have to say and keep an open mind <3

Personally i think that it would be really cool to increase the value of gold on the game. I miss the days when 100k Gold was a lot of money. It makes clothing shops etc so much more excel because the small price gap between buying from a store and the catalogue worth it.

    To SmallVerse Staff,

You might ask how might this be possible when the games market is already established?

Ways of bringing gold down for everyone(emptying peoples pockets LOL):
    • Release GOLD purchased packages including VIP (with CL like on SW)
    • Release some items on the catalogue for a short period of time which are sort after (things with various colour combinations etc so people end up spending lots of gold like when the shoes released)
    • release furniture like couches, rugs etc that are already out but in various other colours & patterns
    • alternatively maybe you could change everyone's gold balances to reflect this as you edit the store packages too. But i'm not familiar enough with the games backend to know if this is capable

    To the Community,

    What this would mean?

This would mean that while doing all these things you could lower the gold packages values so that there is less gold for more money.

While some people would complain and be greedy buggers who love seeing millions sitting in their accounts, it would make alot of the original playerbase happy as well as bring some more life into some of the smaller businesses. (Clothing stores, Sculpture shops etc)

I'm VERY aware that many people would not like this idea, but if you sit back and actual look at this for a second instead of just thinking about having a bigger number, it is for the greater good of the SV economy.

I would love to get some feedback, whether it is good or bad, share your thoughts.

    Lets spark a conversation :P

    Kindest Regards

    Your Friend

During a Q&A, the SmallVerse Team made it clear they won't be adding any packages/cl that you can buy with gold.

I like the idea of more furniture colours! I'm really hoping they release some dark wood counters because so far all we have are marble, bamboo, light wood(country) and plastic-looking counters.

      thanks for the response jess

Personally I think its a really poor decision to not have GOLD as a payment method. So many items require VIP and that means players are almost forced to spend money on the game if they want to use the nice looking items, which is not fair especially considering the player base is much older than SW and would be spending money in the game anyway.

I totally agree with the furniture options you mentioned. would be awesome to see

      kind regards

Totally agree. I remember on SW when there were loads more clothing shops, and gold felt so much more valuable. We need to find a way to bring this back.

I think one of the flawed systems is the ability to buy CL in bulk. It would become more stable if they made it a monthly pay-as-you-go system but unfortunately the game isn't set up like that and also means the income for the game isn't guaranteed.

I really like all of these ideas! Increasing the value of gold will improve the market so much.

I have to disagree. I’m not speaking as a reseller but more as a buyer.

The number #1 reason to why I left MM was because the high cost of items. You had to buy package after package (even if more affordable) to be able to buy one coveted item in a wear/rare shop. Having to desire and purchase packages in such a way (and I mean excessively) to afford ANYTHING in the game made the game not fun. There was no way to go into a shop to buy something you wanted and be able to afford it. Seasonals would be overpriced as well and nothing really had the value of what you paid because there was no limits on how many items were purchased at a time.

Coming here, it seems like the same people or mindset has moved over to this game expecting high prices for things but from what I see, which extends into sculpture shops (I sculpt) that buyers are more frugal to what they spend their gold on or are more aware to what they spend and want a cheaper price so they will hunt out a better deal. Considering this, perhaps sellers are raising prices of items too soon and not allowing the buyers interest/high demand help determine pricing and naturally give value to the item. But anyway, sellers can’t force a buyer to buy an item, even with hoarding, because they still have the opportunity walk away and might even walk away from the game if the prices are too high. This goes with catalog as well.

                Ideas:

Limit purchase to how many packages are bought in bulk in the store.

Limit how many of one item (limited special items) can be purchased in catalog.

Use ip address to lock how many of monthlies one household/ip address can purchase to take control of the muling concerns. This was never a concern on SW when limiting release of monthlies didn’t exist. (This is a SV problem, not a SW problem when concerning the monthlies) Interest and hoarding determined pricing and while it had it’s pros/cons, it allowed monthlies to be accessible to everyone when they had their time in catalog (which was fair)

Release special rares/items for a limited time and limit quantity to how many one person can buy. Create your own items as well, creating new items is stagnant on this game.

Run special and limited sales on items in store

Run sales on gold packages from time to time to get buyers buying again so shops can flourish (within reason)

Absolutely no buying packages/VIP with gold since the reality is, a game needs financial support to keep its doors open for us to have a game to play.

I don’t know specifically how these suggestions will affect the economy, I don’t specialize in the topic, but hopefully, this can help balance it out keeping some rarity to items, benefit resellers but also help benefit buyers where they can still afford items in shops without items having insane, crazy prices that are reflective of a different game.

When things cost too much, it sucks the fun right out of a game. Everyone wants some sense of being successful or having some of the things they want. I think that at the very least, we can all agree with that.

But one thing I also want to point out that SV needs to be careful of; while needing to make money to support itself, packages still need to be a reasonable price and contain the right quantity if items for the price. If this doesn’t happen, it leaves the impression on players that it is a big cash grab so we definitely need fair pricing as well. I don’t feel that they are similar to what they were on SW and some of the items in store were NEVER released on SW as packages. (Christmas lights which were seasonals, and the ugly brown fur coat which was a mission reward)

It is absolutely evident to every one that this version of the game was designed specifically to hook nostalgic whales because there have been no serious attempts to expand the player base and attract people who never played the OG. There are too many over-priced rare package releases and not enough catalog releases
