    Game suggestion

    Hey everyone,

I’m new to Smallverse, though I played Small Worlds for most of its run. I wanted to share something I noticed from my own experience and see how others feel about it.

I found myself playing pretty much all day without really meaning to. I know this is just my experience, but I also noticed a lot of people being online for long stretches. Because there isn’t really a natural stopping point, there’s a strong pull to keep chatting, space hopping, buying things, etc., and it can be surprisingly easy to lose track of time.

This got me thinking about balance and mental health, especially since the game is geared toward young adults. I personally think an optional screen-time or session timer (something players could turn on themselves) might be helpful for people who want support setting limits and logging off for the day.

    I’m curious:
    • Have any of you noticed this too?
    • Would an optional timer/lock feature be helpful, or do you prefer handling limits on your own?
    • How do you personally avoid staying on all day?

Just wanted to open up a conversation and hear different perspectives. 🙂

PLS engage with this if you feel similar- it feels different now that we’re adults to be spending all day on here. For players mental health there should be an optional cut off point, I know I would benefit from it. If you’ve seen me online no you haven’t

Megan, there is no need to bump your thread excessively. You must wait at least 3 hours. See the Forum Code of Conduct.

Thanks Penny, apologies I wasn't aware of the Code of Conduct. Do you have any feedback based on my suggestion? I think it would be a great addition to manage game play with mental health, which is hugely important.

i think this is a great idea, though i'm not sure its something they will be interested in adding anytime soon as they probably want players active as possible. Definitely something to look at in the future once the games player base is secured and expanded a little.

100% Steven, I totally see your point. It definitely seems incompatible with a business model that thrives on keeping people glued to the screen. But I think as games evolve, having tools to manage gameplay—like the 'Are you still watching?' prompts on Netflix or YouTube—would be such a welcome addition.

Even if it’s just a toggle in the settings, it shows the devs actually care about the community’s long-term health, not just the daily active user count.

I’m curious though, have you ever felt like you’ve been online for way too long without realizing it? Or do you see other players who seem like they never actually log off? I feel like we've all been there at some point!
