Hi SmallVerse Dev Team,
I’m writing as both a passionate player and a supporter of SmallVerse’s long-term success. I’d like to propose opening public access to the official SmallVerse API - with secure a implementation - to empower the community to build tools that benefit both players and the game.
I know, based on what's visible on the client side, that the game already has a slew of API endpoints covering valuable in-game data including:
By providing API access, you allow development-minded players to create community accessible tools, such as:
Ensuring Security
It's understandable that opening an API can introduce risks if not handled carefully. However, there are proven practices the development team can implement, such as:
SmallVerse has the foundation of an amazing online world with an incredibly dedicated and creative community. Opening the API - even in a limited, phased rollout - would unlock boundless innovation that strengthens the game’s ecosystem and helps everyone stay engaged.
Thank you for taking the time to consider this request. I (and assuredly many others) would be thrilled to collaborate, test, and help shape how public API access is implemented and could evolve.

I know, based on what's visible on the client side, that the game already has a slew of API endpoints covering valuable in-game data including:
- Avatar information
- Account gold/token balances
- Skill levels/xp
- Player population
- Player-owned spaces and the current visitor count of those spaces
- (And likely many more that aren't visible client side)
By providing API access, you allow development-minded players to create community accessible tools, such as:
- Dashboards for tracking skill progression over time and XP requirements
- Notifications for in-game alerts, marketplace changes, or plant/pet statuses
- Social integrations for friend groups store owners
- Accessibility tools for players with different needs
Ensuring Security
It's understandable that opening an API can introduce risks if not handled carefully. However, there are proven practices the development team can implement, such as:
- Per-user API keys
- Read-only permission scopes
- Rate-limiting
- Smooth and easy key revocation and regeneration
