Making Level Milestones Meaningful & Stimulating the Player Economy

    Hey everyone,

I’ve been spending a lot of time doing missions, farming, and crafting because I genuinely enjoy the core gameplay loop of Smallverse. However, I wanted to open up a discussion about the current leveling system and how we might be able to make it a much more rewarding experience, both for player retention and for the health of the game’s economy.

The Current Issue: The "Pay-to-Equip" Wall

Right now, leveling up doesn't feel like a true achievement. Often, the only "reward" for hitting a new level milestone is the ability to equip a new wearable. But unlocking the privilege to spend 14k+ gold on an item doesn't feel like a reward—it feels like a massive bill at the end of a long grind.

When you grind out missions and farm for hours, hitting that level should make you feel accomplished. Instead, staring at that massive price tag makes the rewarding feeling feel incredibly distant. It leaves me asking, "What am I actually grinding for?"

Furthermore, a huge portion of the community just sits and spins the deluxe spin wheel non-stop. This acts as a massive gold sink, sending currency straight back to Smallverse rather than circulating it among the players.

Proposed Solutions to Make the Grind Worth It

To fix this, I believe leveling milestones should offer tangible rewards. Here are a few ideas that could bridge the gap:

Milestone Care Packages: Reaching specific levels (e.g., every 5 or 10 levels) should reward players with a bundle of gold, tokens, or useful items. Giving players a direct payout for their time makes the milestone feel celebrated.

Exclusive "Grinder-Only" Items: Not everything should be purchasable. Introduce a few exclusive wearables or cosmetics that can only be unlocked by reaching high levels. This gives dedicated players something to flex that proves they put the work in, separate from those who just buy gold.

Tradeable Milestone Rewards: Award players with high-value crafting materials or unique items upon leveling up. Players who don't want to use these items can sell them to other players. This creates a healthy player-to-player market instead of forcing everyone to buy directly from the NPC shops.

Deluxe Spin Tickets for Grinders: Since the deluxe wheel is so popular, why not reward a free spin ticket for major level milestones? This gives grinders a taste of the premium rewards without completely draining their hard-earned gold back into the system.

    Why This Helps Smallverse

Implementing these changes does two massive things for the game:

    1. Boosts the Economy: By giving players items they can sell and trade, you get more gold and tokens into players' pockets. It shifts the currency circulation from Player -> Void to Player -> Player, building a much healthier, active economy.

    2. Improves Player Retention: When the game actively rewards you for farming, crafting, and completing missions, players are heavily incentivized to log in every day. The grind suddenly has a definitive, rewarding light at the end of the tunnel.

I’d love to hear what the rest of the community thinks. How would you guys like to see leveling rewards handled?

I love the idea of being able to earn additional spins in this way. Cool idea!

...the only "reward" for hitting a new level milestone is the ability to equip a new wearable.
This is only true for the 4 core XP levels: social, artist, explorer and gamer. Farming and crafting levels operate perfectly, in that, as your level increases, your ability to sow/cross-pollinate/harvest and craft expands to more items. It has the effect of building and rewarding mastery and as a result you can produce items that others cannot. The only thing that would make it better is if we unlock avatar-locked abilities that make farming and crafting faster, easier or more productive so that there is a real competitive advantage over beginners .

Suggestion #1: Reaching specific levels (e.g., every 5 or 10 levels) should reward players with a bundle of gold, tokens, or useful items
Makes sense but it should be very modest. I could have sworn we got tokens when we leveled up on SW.

Suggestion #2: Introduce a few exclusive wearables or cosmetics that can only be unlocked by reaching high levels.
This already exists with crafted wearables. Unfortunately, unless the ability to sell/trade the item is disabled, it defeats the purpose of rewarding hard workers so they can flex if lazy players can just buy it

Suggestion #3: Award players with high-value crafting materials or unique items upon leveling up
Same as above. On what basis should this be given for free though?

Suggestion #4: Reward a free spin ticket for major level milestones
        Loving this tease promotional tactic

All of these ideas sound cool and will definitely find favour with most players but might not be great for the economy overall. A huge increase in mission plays will drastically increase the amount of tokens in-world. This will decrease the reliance on gold for decorating and may lead to less gold packages being bought. The devs will then release gold -only items and/or start using the 1:30 pricing ratio for new dual-currency items. It is significantly easier to level up on SV (just 20 missions to jump 10 levels in 2 weeks) than on SW, so whatever reward is given can't be too grand that it hurts the economy or incentivises muling.
