    Personal Seller

    Hello!

In the OG Smallworlds, there was a concept of a "Personal Seller", which is different from a "Trusted Seller"--I don't know if people remember this, but personal sellers would be provided with a buying list, usually through google docs.

Is anyone hiring a W&R Personal Seller? If so, please message me! I am interested in getting started <3

I don't think Personal Sellers exist anymore since giving someone your price list of items is essentially sharing your whole business to make gold on SmallVerse. However, shops use trusted sellers to keep the stock up and have their lists kept by someone who is 'trusted'.

I would recommend applying to be a trusted seller somewhere but you will need to have a good starting amount to buy items and the reasons why you want to sell at that specific shop.

I don't think it's so much giving someone a list as the pricing for everything is so volatile. Things change sometimes not even daily but can be hourly. I've toyed with coming up with a Google Sheet, but the idea of trying to keep up with that is exhausting.
However, Georgia, I would be interested in taking you on as a Trusted Seller at our place (True North Flea Market), or buying w&r off of you. I can't give that kind of a list, though.

Hi Mira! It is something I would be interested in--it's more that I'm not really up to date on pricing for W&R and so I'm not sure how risky it would be to come on as a trusted seller--or if you have general guidelines for pricing on W&R at your spot? If there are guidelines, I would absolutely definitely be interested -- however, if there aren't any pricing guidelines or tips on staying up to date on accurate price ranges, I will definitely have to think about it, as this was mainly why I was looking to be a personal seller--so that I'm still making profit but guaranteeing a sale to a shop owner at their buying price.

Or would it be smarter to start individually with smaller, lower risk W&R, and learn general pricing through experience? Jess makes a fair point that I didn't think about, especially given that a lot of W&R are priced higher--I currently have about 27k in gold, and probably ~15k in W&R stock currently (just a couple of items). What amount do people usually start with for W&R selling through shops in SV?? 100k? 250k? 500k+?

Hi Georgia, I know that some shops require a high gold amount/stock amount to start off but it would be worth just going to the shops and asking them.

To start figuring out prices, I would keep up to date on the Trading Channel and join as many auctions as possible to get a rough estimate for prices whilst also remembering that auctions do sell for slightly less than shops so they can make a profit but you may have to sit for a while to find an item you want. Checking shop prices as well will help adjust your list but beware that prices are changing daily at the moment since the community is so small so they can be manipulated quite easily.

Hi Jess! Thank you for that - that helps a lot! Just one question to clarify--by Trading Channel, you mean on Discord, correct?
