    Daily Gold Reward Reduction

Earlier today, I noticed a change to the daily gold reward.

Previously, it awarded 50g, from day 5+.
Now, it awards 25g from day 5+ - i.e. exactly half of the original reward.

I personally think this is pretty disgraceful, honestly. The reason being that it is a well-known fact that it is hard to earn gold in SV (and indeed back in the original SW days) without committing to offers, where you must give away personal details at varying degrees. And also, given a good chunk of us are adults now, many of us don't have the time to dedicate to earning the amount of tokens one would need to exchange for any significant amount of gold. As with SW in its last few years, there are also never any videos available to watch to earn gold, at least for those of us in the UK.

In SV, the otherwise seemingly innocuous change to the daily gold reward is made worse by how prices are still currently all over the place in-world. To be expected, perhaps, but this has seen no official regulation, which I think it should have received by now. For example, loyalty items like the Glass Encased Rose are being priced for around 30k, whereas in SW, loyalty items usually had a starting price of around 1k gold - or slightly above - directly after their release, and ergo the price would would subsequently climb higher the more time passed.

For those of us without the real life funds available to us that enables us to purchase gold packages on the regular and/or don't want to give out our personal information with regards to offers, this otherwise small amount of gold mounts up over time via the daily reward system, and can make a big difference. To halve it is, quite honestly, grossly unjust.

Update: Weirdly, it has now been updated to 50 gold again. However, I still maintain my other point that price regulation is desperately needed

Trixi, please note the day 5+ daily gold for non-VIPs is 25 gold and 50 gold for VIPs. It may have been a visual error on your side when recently loading in if you haven't just renewed your VIP membership.

As much as this happening would be pretty good for the majority of players, I find it hard to see how either the SV team or players of their own accord could effectively regulate pricing. Part of SV's, and indeed SW's, original appeal came from the opportunity to live out the capitalist dream, and I can't see shop owners nor the SV team becoming radical socialists anytime soon, or even advocate for regulated capitalism. Such as is with the real world, we are beholden to those with the deepest pockets.

Thank you for your reply, Penny! I'm aware of the difference. I only thought it wasn't a glitch because it remained that way for hours, and my VIP membership is still very much active. But I'm glad it remains unchanged ultimately.

I do agree with you. And I'm aware they can't regulate prices manually, but it would be helpful to release some kind of official statement regarding this to get things back on track, or something to that effect (regarding Loyalty items specifically, not regular rares, etc). I feel that is quite reasonable considering the startling (and honestly quite silly) difference of pricing compared to how it used to be.

It's honestly just whack, and many people have complained in-world about this issue, hence why I was compelled to at least try to raise awareness.

But I take your point, and yes, sadly, we are indeed beholden to those with the deepest pockets. It's just a shame that we're beholden to the extent we currently are, with such crazy prices, in comparison to what they used to be.

Supply & Demand. If they really want to sell the item, they have to find a buyer willing to pay their price, if they can't and they Really want to sell it, they'll have to lower the price. Personally, I refuse to pay those outlandish prices.
