I'm using plants in a mission for the first time. I've bought several from plant stores. Do they stay alive and pretty for forever or do I have to keep them alive?

I think they dehydrate after a week when they mature, so you're going to need to water them :/ You could get sprinklers, but in my opinion they are way too expensive for what they are able to do, and they usually don't really fit in aesthetically if it's a mission space... -
Well that is a bummer!!!! Do sprinklers just run all the time and if I don't log on for a month, or however long, the plants will still be alive and watered?I think they dehydrate after a week when they mature, so you're going to need to water them :/ You could get sprinklers, but in my opinion they are way too expensive for what they are able to do, and they usually don't really fit in aesthetically if it's a mission space...Comment

You can set up a proximity interaction on the sprinklers so that anyone visiting the space automatically waters the plants, just so long as the plants are close to the sprinkler and the plant has fully loaded in the space.Comment

thanks so much everyone. The plants can be such a great addition to a mission space. Shame we can't purchase them and they stay alive to always enhance the space. I'm going to try to go hunt down some sprinklers or someone who I can commission to craft them. And then I have to test the coverage of the sprinklers and the differences in the different sprinkler options

I love how this thread is how I'm learning that the sprinklers are actually functional lol. The other option is that many sculpture shops have some great plants and flowers, and some of them fit the aesthetic of the game pretty well. Best shops for plant sculpts that I've come across are:
- K&D's Sculpture Shop (especially for realistic looking plants)
- J&M's Second Hand Shop
- Moonbeam Sculpture Shop (Outdoor)Comment

haha same! the things I never knew I needed to know about sprinklers. That said, I decided against using plants because I can't promise to log in every week and the whole sprinkler thing is just waaaay too much for me. Thank you for the recs. I have all of these in my faves and will revisit them. #notimetowaterI love how this thread is how I'm learning that the sprinklers are actually functional lol.
