If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated! In my roleplay and mission space, The Kingdom of Fangorn, I've just put the finishing touches to my second mission there, entitled Last Orders At The Gilded Stag. However, on task 6 (titled Uh Oh), where the player is tasked to say 'A blueberry? What on earth are you talking about?', the mission task will not update no matter what I do. I've put in the correct text, said it correctly (I even copied and pasted it directly into my avatar speech box), I've set it so that the task completes when you say the phrase as per. It's worked with every other stage but not this one. Has anyone encountered this glitch before? If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated as I just can't progress
Mission Task Not Completing

Make sure that you don’t have two update interactions on the same item for your say line if you are using combination tasks. Also, I would probably leave ? out of the update if it is what is causing the issue. Also, try using keywords to update the say line vs the entire line. i.e. “what on earth” or just have “what on earth are you talking about” to update the task without the question mark. Hopefully, that will help. -
Thanks for your reply, Aribella! It's so odd, because I've done all of those things - I've got no other interactions, I've refreshed, changed the sentence, taken away the question mark, everything. I've even deleted the task and created it again in the correct position in the list. I just don't understand what's going on. I just tested the step. If you only wrote the required task inside the mission's command box (Under 'Completed By' you selected 'Talk' and then wrote the necessary text in 'Text'), then, the step should work as expected. If there are other object reactions floating around, where you may have forgotten you wrote the object to react when the avatar says that phrase, that could interfere with the step's completion. It seems like that isn't the case, though, and your best bet is seeing what staff comes back with. Good luck!Comment

Thank you! Yes, this is why I found it so odd. I have literally no other interactions with regards to that phrase. Let's hope this can be resolved because it's melting my brain haha. UPDATE: for some reason, the dialogue from Task 6, 7 and 8 keep swapping around. It's literally putting the dialogue of the previous task into the next task's completion box, no matter what I did. I have absolutely no idea why this could be occurring. It's definitely a glitch - I've tried it again just now and have seen it with my own eyes. That's why it wasn't working. I have no other interactions to do with this text. I have attempted to fix it, but it keeps happening again and againLast edited by Trixi Fang; 05-02-2026, 04:09 AM.Comment

So this has happened a couple times to me. Especially in spaces with a lot going on. I even bug tested by putting "xxx" in the task completion and no bingo. I had to literally cut and paste all the info, create a new task, save, reload, then push the task up to where it should be. I found if I try to do all this before actually refresh (reload) then the next task has the issue. But, if I just re-cut, re-paste, and then move up, it works. It is a pain, but happened in my shopping mall and mission space.Comment

Do you by any chance have more than one mission in the mission space and are you reusing this same item for another mission and for additional say lines for this new mission that you are working on?UPDATE: for some reason, the dialogue from Task 6, 7 and 8 keep swapping around. Unfortunately I can't seem to get the photos working, otherwise I would! But basically, the long-and-short of it is: in the text box for task completion, the text from the previous task appears in the next one, which is very odd!Comment

Ahh, glad I'm not the only one! What a strange glitch. I wish SV would sort things like this out. I'll keep tryingSo this has happened a couple times to me. Especially in spaces with a lot going on. I do have more than one mission in this space, but it's a large space, and this mission takes place in a totally different area to the first, so thankfully no overlap. I just find it so odd - it's never happened beforeComment

I asked this because there is a bug that specifically involves a space with multiple missions and an item (reusing the item) being used for more than one mission for task updates. Loading the interaction (when entering the item with the update) confuses itself with another task and will either change or completely remove the update. If you can’t dedicate the space to only one mission, then it’s best not to reuse items across multiple missions or redirect the update using an event instead to hopefully prevent the issue. Thankfully, updates only change when entering the item with the interaction and not as the space itself is loading, just make sure all interactions are there before saving and try avoiding entering it again.I do have more than one mission in this space, but it's a large space, and this mission takes place in a totally different area to the first, so thankfully no overlap. Thanks for the tip! And yes, that's one reason I never reuse items in the same space for different missions. I really don't know why this is happening. I wish SV would fix it, because it's incredibly frustrating. And it appears I'm not the only one to whom this is occurring
