Favorite OG SW Mission & Why?

Hi all! I'm an OG SWer turned noob to Smallverse. First goal for myself is creating the mission that I didn't have the capacity to make when I was like 12. I remember how impressive some of them were, with a whole subsection of the community dedicated to well-crafted, immersive missions. I miss that!

With that being said, what are your favorite missions from OG SW and why? What makes a great mission for you? What are the best qualities of your favorite missions?

I know they have the first part of the Alpha Labs missions, but I loved all of them... even though at the time I was too little to figure out what in the world I was supposed to do xD but once I got older, and found a guide on YouTube... it was easy, lol. I honestly don't remember too many missions from OG SW, it's been too long since it's been around... plus back then I was mostly doing missions to grind tokens, I never thought twice about the actual mission... even though I should've.

Because it was in three parts, I would have to say Break Out! I hope SV will consider recreating parts 2 and 3. I liked them because they utilized spaces that were only available to SmallWorlds developers, and they had videos created by SmallWorlds specific to the mission. Oh, and the storyline was an epic one!

With that being said, what are your favorite missions from OG SW and why?

I had two favorites.

One was the Haunted School mission by Cantik Ajieh. Old, old mission. 2009, It was the first time I saw a Flikr board being used to provide a background to support the decor of the space, in it was a staircase. I also loved horror stories and it had a definitely scary vibe to it that I loved.

Another was a mission that Smeeky Star created on an alt. Sadly, I can't remember what it was called but it was about an evil queen and a princess that marries her son, I think their baby dies as well. It was one of those evil fantasy types but it had great lighting effects and NPC interactions. I love missions with all the bells n whistles and that is one that had it.

What makes a great mission for you? What are the best qualities of your favorite missions?

I have rather high expectations for missions that I wholeheartedly enjoy and adore. I like them to have a good storyline, decor that helps set the scene for the story, and most importantly, good interactions. If it's lighting, sound effects (that make it even more real) and NPCs, I'm all in.

Wow I'm seeing some familiar names that are bringing back the nostalgia! I had a ton of favorite missions but honestly I can't remember the names of them. I really only remember missions I made, and I can't even remember the names of half of those lol!

Oh wow! I would love to see that list! I have 1 SW friend on FB who I messaged when I discovered this a few days ago. She brought up so many missions that I created that I didn't remember AT ALL until she mentioned them which is so crazy! I remember your missions. Or at least that you had several. If I remember correctly, you had at least 1 western mission? Are you bringing any OG missions back? It would be so fun to play some user created OG missions from back in the day. I'll friend you and send a message.

OMG!!! that is amazing!! Thank you so much for doing this! I have also forgotten the name of most of my old missions and the ones I would replay week after week. There were so many great missions and creators.

I can't remember her name to save my life, but there was a lady on sw that made a lot of missions that were in depth, great story-telling. But most of her missions were long, around the 50 minute mark with lots of reading. I would love to find those again. I loved doing missions I could really submerse myself in. I would love to see your list if possible Belly Tt to see if I can find those missions.

I was part of the mission making community in og SW and had some missions linked at our hub, and if you talk to me in world I'll tell you my old name if you want to know but otherwise I would prefer to keep it private due to doxing reasons. I'm a bit embarrassed for not knowing better back then.

I do remember doing some missions at a magic school that were a lot of fun. And one for getting a tattoo. Of course, the break out missions were a lot of fun; one of the first ones I tried on og sw.

But if its ok, I would like to mention a mission I did yesterday that I don't remember from SW but I was quite impressed with how well it was done and how immersive it felt. Its called "The Flight Log" made by Amethyst Vale. If you haven't tried it yet I would recommend.
