About the piece

The piece portrays a herd of zebras in close proximity. Zebras are known to travel in groups. Their contrasting stripes make them to uniquely stick out, but also recognizable; similar to "thumb prints"! No two zebras share the same patterned stripes. This is one of the reasons zebras are so memorable and eye-catching as a safari animal.

I feel incredibly accomplished after working on this piece! Took a lot of dedication and perseverance but it was so worth it!

A brief description of the work:
In this piece, I wanted to honor the quiet beauty of the giraffe by capturing its profile in hyperrealistic detail. Every hair, shadow, and curve of its face was drawn with care, reflecting the patience and focus I felt while creating it. My goal was to share the sense of calm and wonder I feel whenever I look at these gentle giants. This month has been full with travel, starting a new job, and preparing for a big move, but through it all this painting slowly became my favorite piece I’ve made on SV. I had other ideas I wanted to pursue, but in the end I’m proud to share this one as my entry.
