Hi all ~ I have most of my old SW art saved, and figured - why not post it here? Despite how much looking at my old art makes me cringe, it is a good practice in recognizing growth as an artist. If anyone else has old art they want to share ~ I would encourage you to do so! These are listed in chronological order (roughly), so you can see my improvement as I continued to paint!
P.S. go easy on me... the OGSW graffiti boards were pretty unforgiving with a 2,000 stroke paint limit!

Yup... this was my very first SW painting. Lol...

This is supposed to be Marilyn Monroe

This one was for the SW avatar self portrait contest... I think I was one of the runner ups? It was after this that I started to take the art a little more seriously.

WOW lol you can see how different the original graffiti board controls were... I forgot they even looked like that! No fancy brushes, just very simple sliders and a paint limit progress bar. Eek. This was an original painting and you can tell LOL.

Good old George... lol

I think this is Utada Hikaru? Still love her music!

Okay, it's messy and not at all polished but I still LOVE this one! The shadows on the petals are just so lovely to me.

Another original, and again, it shows. You might notice a pattern with those LOL.
Another original... sigh... why is she bald and why is the face so generic?

This was definitely either referenced from Mark Ryden, or Mark-Ryden adjacent.

I think this one was also an original? All I can say is oof... lol. Not a fan of this one at all.

This was an original as well. Surprisingly I don't dislike this one, octopi are fun and easy to draw!

Another original... enough said.

ANOTHER original... I thought I was really good at drawing faces at the time. Lol. Looking back now and looking at my current skill level, I think it's safe to say there is always room for improvement.

This one is a self-portrait of me around the time. The photo reference I used was from a run of A Mid Summer Night's Dream in which I played Hermia, set in the '70's. This was probably the most fun I ever had with an on-stage performance.

Gaga, oh la la... I do like that I painted this piece with a much softer, blended hand.

Lol... she looks a little too mischevious...

This one is better, IMO

How many times did I paint this godforsaken woman lol? And what happened to the shape of her head?? I'd be happy to NEVER paint this lady again

I still love this painting! It may not be the best in terms of technical work, but the vibe is on point. And look at that face!

Another painting that is not very technically well done, but I still kind of like it. Look at the size difference between the eyes lol...

An original that I don't hate! This one is fun and the colors are dreamy. Maybe I will redo this in my current style.

I seem to remember this one being a group paint... I believe a bunch of us painted the same reference image. I really like the colors of the skin, here. Lots of muted cools blended in with some warms.

LOL I guess I did her twice

I think this was an earlier painting, but the longer I go through this list, the less confident I am in the chronological order of these.

This is definitely one of my favorites. The shapeliness and the bold colors just really did it for me, and they still do!

Sooo many lions... enough already...

A reproduction of some old painting, but I no longer know which

For some reason I did not bother to give this poor fox eyes...

Audrey Hepburn... what a dame

Rembrandt?

Lady with an Ermine, sans the ermine

Another original. 'nough said.

This one is so off, lol. It was supposed to be Conor Oberst, one of my favorite musicians at the time. I'd say I'm still a fan, but my musical tastes have changed a lot since this time.

I loooooved this one back in the day and I still do now! This is another painting I would definitely consider redoing!

This is the little girl who sung at the Olympics when they were hosted in China... she was so cute, and then it later came out as a scandal that
she was just lip-syncing and the real child who sung wasn't shown because she wasn't 'cute enough' Wtf lol. I should paint that girl now!

This was a screenshot from The Walking Dead, during the first season and well before the show totally exploded in popularity. SPOILER alert it was the moment Andrea's sister (forget her name) turned back in S1. I really liked the way I painted this one.

Another zombie girl. This one was just a regular model that I zombified, I think. It was around this time I felt like I was actually getting the hang of capturing likeness, somewhat.

This one was a Loish reference, ah. I wanted to be her so badly. Still do tbh! Lol

This one was done for the mission 'The Door'. I think I made the perspective all wonky on purpose... I think. Either way, I don't hate it and would love another go at this concept.

I still think I did a pretty good job with this one. You can never go wrong with painting a good ol' frog.

This was a really awesome reference image

By the tenth pretty lady they start to get kind of boring, right? That's how I feel about this one.

Still love this one

Another self portrait - pretty cringe, I know. But I really liked the colors of the original photo, and I think they show here:

This was a gift for a friend - Josey. I think her full name was Josey Belladonna? My memory is very bad, though. It was for her birthday.

Another gift... a meerkat for my friend, Liz Smith.

Another original. It's alright. The Loish inspo was strong here.

This was a commission for a friend - it might have been Cutthroat Joe? Hard to remember:

This was an original two-boarder I did, and I have to say - I like this! There are definitely things I would do differently now, but overall, it's a cool piece.

This was a commission, that's all I remember. Not a big fan of the way this one turned out, looking back now.

I would say this is the closest I ever got to a magnum opus of sorts, lol. And even so... LOOK AT THAT LINE running across the left side, behind the arm. UGH! I noticed only after I saved it. Still haunts me all these years later, lmao.

Another original...

Not the most thrilling painting inside or out, but this was a delight to paint and imo it is still a delight to look at.

Another original inspired by Loish. Geez that woman really lives in my head rent-free lol

Another original. The hands are pretty good here, actually.

Still really like this. Gore is actually VERY fun to draw. I'm probably on some kind of list now for saying that lol

I loved Grumpy Cat. Not sure about these colors though

Another reference that would probably be fun to try again:

This was for a self-portrait event and let me tell you my dad HATED this painting! He said it was ugly... like yeah Dad, okay, those are your genetics.
Anyway, you can see the forums are up in the background, haha.

An original of my OC, Gretchen

Another original, this was inspired by the concept of a bacchus

Also an original. Looking back now, I definitely improved my original work as time went on, as well.

Pretty sure this was for my friend Charlie Thomas. I believe it was his dog, Charlie, if I'm not mistaken.

P.S. go easy on me... the OGSW graffiti boards were pretty unforgiving with a 2,000 stroke paint limit!
