    Staying Safe

If a SmallVerse citizen is breaking the rules, you can report that citizen to our Moderation Team. On-duty Moderators read all reports as they are submitted. Response time depends on how busy they are, but rest assured they will deal with the issue as soon as they can, sometimes within minutes.

    When should I Report?
    • If another citizen uses obscene, racist, or otherwise vulgar language
    • If another citizen talks about, asks for, or simulates sexual acts
    • If another citizen is harassing you in world. Report and block the user
    • If you know a citizen is cheating or otherwise violating the SmallVerse Terms of Service
    • If a citizen is spamming (repeating the same message over and over)
    • If a citizen engages in scamming other citizens
    • If a space or mission contains offensive material
    • If a citizen states they are under the age of 13

    What NOT To Report!

Moderators will NOT respond to reports about the following issues:

1 - Being booted from someone's private space.
2 - Another citizen being mean or unkind to you (If this happens just block them).
3 - A citizen requesting that you be their bf/gf/mom or dad.

Moderators also won't respond to reports which don't have enough information. It's REALLY important to make sure that your reports have a full description of the problem or issue. Quote where possible. Reports with insufficient information cannot be actioned by the Moderation Team. They really want to help you, so please make it easy for them to do so!

What Content is Acceptable in SmallVerse Private Spaces?

SmallVerse strives to perfect the balance between the protection of our players and preservation of freedom of expression.

This is a family-friendly world, the minimum age of our players is 13 years. In our public spaces we have a very strict policy on posted content, we actively monitor and remove any content of lewd, offensive or otherwise inappropriate nature.

Generally if content in a private space would be acceptable in a public real-world environment, such as on an advertising billboard or in a normal (non-adult) magazine, we will allow it to remain.

We treat the content in a space as a separate issue from the behavior of players. When content is reported our Moderation team will investigate the space and if necessary:
    • Remove inappropriate content
    • Warn the owner of the space that they are responsible for content and behavior
    • Require the owner to password protect or member-restrict their space

How to Report A Space, Citizen or Mission
    • To report a space, take a snapshot of what you're reporting and click the Report Content button.
    • To report a user, click the user's avatar and choose Report User.
    • To report a mission, click on Active Missions on your toolbar, click on the task of the mission, and then choose Report Mission.

    Follow Internet Safety Guidelines

Here are some common sense guidelines that you should follow when using SmallVerse:

    1. Avatars aren't always who they say they are. SmallVerse avatars allow you to be yourself without giving away any personal information. While it's fun to make friends with new SmallVerse avatars from all over the world, avoid providing any information that could be used to personally identify you. This includes your Photo and YouTube widgets.

    2. Be safe in world. If someone in a space says something that you find offensive, abusive or inappropriate, click the report abuse button and leave the space. SmallVerse takes abuse reports very seriously and will promptly take action.
To log an abuse report, please follow the steps below:

    - Click on the users Avatar
    - Click on Report Abuse
    - Pick a reason and fill in the form with what they are saying or doing to offend you. Please include as much information as possible.

    3. If the person continues the abusive behavior towards you, block them. To block a user, please follow the steps below:
    - Click on the users Avatar
    - Click Block User.
    - If they are no longer in the space or you have left you need to search for the avatar.
    - Click on the avatar you wish to block in the search results.
    - In the details window click Block this avatar.

    4. Be safe with your space. A good way to remain safe online is to keep all personally identifying information out of your space (e.g., be careful what photos you post in your photo widget). Don't give away personal information of any kind. If you come across another user's homepage that you find offensive, report it immediately to our Moderation Team. Please include name of the avatar that owns the space, the name of the space and why you are reporting it.

    5. In-person meetings can be dangerous. SmallVerse does not recommend you ever physically meet someone you get to know online.
If you choose to meet an online friend in the real world, there are some very important rules you should stick to:

    - Meet only people you feel you know well, have known for a long time, and only with your parents' knowledge and permission.
    - Meet in a public place, such as a mall.
    - Go with a parent or 18+ sibling (even if you are an adult yourself)
    - Make sure the person you're meeting is not alone, but coming with a parent/other adult.

    6. Always follow your family's rules for the Internet. They're there to make sure you have fun and stay safe online.

    7. Be honest about your age. If you are under 13 and pretend to be older, SmallVerse will delete your account.

    8. No SmallVerse staff member will ever ask for your password or email or other personal details. Don't fall for any scam that asks for your SmallVerse password or your personal email address even if it comes to you from someone you believe to be an SmallVerse staff member. SmallVerse staff will never contact you to ask for your personal details.

If you have any further questions, please let us know in the Community Help section on the forums or email our support team!
