Crafting XP not adding to my stats

I've started crafting some Party Poppers on the Learner crafting tools and it says it should give me 4 XP which should take me to level 2 right? But I've done it a few times adding up to 12 XP and none of it has added to my crafting XP or put my level up. Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding?
I also have a screenshot of the space chat log and my stats if that's helpful, thanks.
