    Missions - Interactions deleting

I thought I was crazy for the longest time. But now I know it has to be a glitch within the game.

Any items I added new interactions to for the Escape the City mission, specifically items that were already being used in Survival of the City, had their original interactions partially deleted. It looks like only the first interaction was removed, while the others remained intact. We should be able to add new interactions for a new mission without affecting existing ones, especially for missions that are already approved. This happened on every single item that I used for the new mission, that already had interactions for an existing approved mission. I only knew because someone tried to play it and alerted me that their task wasn't updating. I tested the mission and it wasn't just the 1 item, it was every item that I added an interaction to for the new mission. Has anyone looked into this?

This was a bug that existed on SW and they could never figure out the cause so this bug just moved over from SW to here since it’s the same data. It only affects missions using the same space and reusing the same items for interactions, from what I notice, only update interactions drop. I have seen when it happens. It occurs as the item is loading the interaction ( when you enter it to look at it ) and it will improperly load the mission and the task and confuse it for the other one. When this happens, it can change the update so it won’t update correctly, but if it happens to change it for a task that already has an update on the same item for that particular task (duplicates) it will completely remove the interaction since we can’t have 2 updates for the same task on the same item.

The big tip off to indicate if any update interactions have changed/dropped when entering a shared item is; if the update button changes to save it (no additional changes to interactions made yet by you) and is no longer greyed out. If it has, something has changed so check over your interactions before moving on. That’s a way to guarantee that something isn’t messed up. If corrected, the interaction will remain as long as you don’t enter that particular item’s interactions again, at least from my personal experience.

To try to prevent this issue from happening, I don’t use the cloning feature for update interactions, but will use for others. Idk if it helps, but I always suspected the cloning feature had something to do with this since I don’t remember it happening before SW implemented it. Also, if you can, try not to reuse objects, because once you do and enter the item to make changes, that’s when interactions can change/drop.

The best alternative if you do have to reuse an item is, instead of putting an update on that item, try having interacting with it trigger an event instead, then on another item not currently used, have that event trigger an update for that task, so therefore, you are redirecting it. Hopefully, that helps. It should if only the update interactions are changing/being dropped and not others.

Interesting. I don't remember this happening on SW but it was so long ago maybe I just forgot. I just went back and re-added the interactions and they seem to be co-existing. But we really shouldn't have to worry about this problem. It's extremely frustrating when approved missions are being affected and I hope they can figure out the fix for this.

The issue happened to me on my The Enemy Within mission on SW (which was REALLY frustrating) and on here for The Boogeyman and My Undead Heart, all are two part missions that used the same space.

Hopefully they can figure it out. I added all the information I knew to help them replicate the issue and try to figure it out. In the meantime, I provided a couple workarounds so hopefully that helps you out a little bit. 🙂

Hey! So a temporary fix to this is when you go on interactions > reactions, saving it again or clicking on another reaction and back to the top one will stop it from deleting. This seems to only happen when you first go on an interaction after you load into the space.
