    Troubleshooting Connectivity Issues in SmallVerse

    Connectivity Issues Generally

    Connection issues are one of the more commonly reported problems in SmallVerse. It's important to note that there is no single solution that resolves every player's connection issue, as they can be caused by a variety of factors including your network, device configuration, internet service provider, or local security settings. In the vast majority of cases, connectivity issues originate outside of SmallVerse and are related to the player's device or network.

    While there are rare occasions where SmallVerse experiences server-side issues that may result in widespread disconnects or connection failures, these events are uncommon and are typically identified and resolved as quickly as possible by our Technical Team.

    If you have only recently begun experiencing connection issues, we recommend first checking that your internet connection is stable. Restarting your router or modem can often resolve temporary network issues and should be one of the first troubleshooting steps you try.

    Below are the most common solutions that have helped players resolve connectivity issues.
    Solution 1: Clear Your Game Cache Files & Reinstall SmallVerse

    Corrupted or outdated cache files can occasionally interfere with your connection to SmallVerse. Clearing these files ensures the game creates a fresh set of temporary files. See below device-specific instructions on clearing your cache files. See this thread for more information on clearing your cache.

    For Windows Devices:
    We recommend starting by logging out of SmallVerse and logging back in, as this can often resolve minor issues. If the problem persists after doing so, please proceed with the steps below to clear your cache:
    1. Close SmallVerse completely.
    2. Press the Windows button in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
    3. Type %appdata% into the search bar and press Enter.
    4. In the folder that opens, locate and delete the SmallVerse folder.
    5. Open your Recycle Bin and delete the SmallVerse folder from there as well.
    6. Reopen SmallVerse and try again.

    For macOS Devices:
    1. Simply uninstall SmallVerse and then reinstall it using the following link:

    Solution 2: Check macOS Settings & Security Software

    If you're using macOS, certain system features or security applications may interfere with SmallVerse's ability to maintain a stable connection.

    FindMy Features
    Some players have reported that Apple's Find My service can occasionally interfere with network connectivity. If you're experiencing persistent connection problems on macOS, it may be worth temporarily disabling Find My to determine whether it is contributing to the issue. See this website from Apple on how to do this.

    Firewall & Security Software

    Firewalls, antivirus software, VPNs, and other network security applications can sometimes block or interrupt SmallVerse's connection. If you use any third-party security software, check whether SmallVerse has been blocked or restricted. You may need to create an exception or temporarily disable the software to test whether it is causing the issue.
    Solution 3: Test Another WiFi Network/Connection

    One of the quickest ways to determine whether the issue is related to your internet connection is to try connecting through a different network. If you are able to connect to another family member's WiFi, your work, or even your mobile hotspot. If SmallVerse performs as expected on an alternative network it would suggest the issue is with your own WiFi network and we would recommend consulting solution 4 below.

    If SmallVerse works as expected on another network, this suggests the issue lies with your original network rather than the game itself. This information can also be extremely helpful if you need to contact support.

    See this website on how to enable mobile hotspot on Android mobiles: https://support.google.com/android/a...59108?hl=en-GB
    See this website on how to enable mobile hotspot on iPhones: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/111785

    Solution 4: Check Your Wi-Fi Network Settings to Allow SmallVerse.App Domain

    Some routers include advanced security or parental control features that may block or limit certain connections. If your WiFi network provides a mobile app or web dashboard, log-in and check if you can add the smallverse.app domain to your allowed/whitelisted websites. Every player's WiFi network is different and therefore there is not one set of instructions on how to do this. We recommend consulting Google or your WiFi provider directly.

    Allowing the SmallVerse domain may help improve connection stability on networks that perform filtering and in-turn should prevent you from being disconnected in-world.
    Solution 5: Temporarily Disable Bluetooth & Disconnect External Devices/Cables

    While uncommon, some players have reported improved connection stability after reducing interference from connected devices. See the steps below on how you can do this:
    • Temporarily disable Bluetooth;
    • Disconnect any unnecessary USB devices, hubs, adapters or external cables including mobile charging cables;
    • Launch SmallVerse again and test your connection.

    Still Experiencing Connectivity Issues?

    If you have any questions about any of the steps in this thread please create a thread in Bugs & Issues and a Moderator will assist you.

    If you have completed all of the steps above and are still experiencing connection problems, please contact support@smallverse.app.

    To help the Support Team investigate your issue as quickly as possible, please include the following information in your support request:
    • Your operating system;
    • Whether the issue occurs on Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or both;
    • Whether you have tested each of the solutions in this thread and the result of each step (if applicable);
    • Whether the issue began recently or has always occurred;
    • The frequency of your disconnections;
    • Any error messages you receive;
    • Any VPN, firewall, antivirus, or security software currently installed on your device;

    Providing this information upfront allows the Support Team to narrow down the possible causes more quickly and provide the most appropriate assistance.
