Guideline Policy: Approved Mission Standards
1 – Average Time to Complete Mission:
Approved missions need to be above 4 minutes in length - long enough to provide a fun & engaging experience but not so long that players get frustrated or bored.
2 – Creativity:
Approved missions should highlight your creativity through engaging storylines, innovative space design, and thoughtful use of interactions. Missions that stand out by surprising, delighting, or educating players are highly encouraged. Submissions that closely resemble recently approved missions may be rejected for lacking originality. Showcase your unique ideas and creativity!
3 – Ease of Play:
Approved missions should prioritize player enjoyment and engagement. While challenging missions are welcome and can appeal to players who enjoy solving puzzles, missions listed in the Approved Missions category must be fun, creative, and ultimately achievable to ensure a positive experience for a broad audience.
4 – Mission Quality Standards:
All missions must have minimal to no spelling or grammatical errors in task descriptions, completion tasks, and interactions. Additionally, all tasks, interactions, and permissions must function as intended.
5 – Mission Space Allocation:
The size of the space must align with the requirements of the mission. Smaller spaces may limit the scope for creativity and functionality needed to achieve mission objectives. Typically, smaller spaces are permitted to host only one approved mission, whereas larger spaces can accommodate multiple missions.
6 – Mission Resubmission Limit:
If a mission is submitted and rejected three times without evidence of attempts to address the issues outlined in the rejection notices, any subsequent submissions will be automatically rejected without testing or further explanation.
Mission Testing and Updates
Mission Testing:
Prior to submission, all missions must be thoroughly tested to verify functionality and successful completion with a minimum of 10 plays. Missions that do not meet this requirement will not be tested, ensuring only complete and functional missions proceed to the review stage.
Custom Mission Panel Modifications:
Once a mission is approved, no changes may be made to the Custom Mission Panel (CMP). This includes modifications to spelling, task descriptions, or actions required to complete tasks. If changes are made, the mission must be resubmitted for approval.
Guideline Policy: Mission Creation Standards
All missions, whether submitted for approval or not, must adhere to the following criteria. Non-compliance may result in the removal of the mission:
1 – Multiple Missions:
Missions must be independent; a single action or event cannot simultaneously complete tasks across multiple missions.
2 – Triggers:
A mission or item interaction cannot automatically trigger multiple missions or tasks.
3 – Space Changes:
Missions should not consist solely of traveling from space to space. Adding a single quick action (e.g., an emote) between space changes is considered insufficient.
4 – Time Delays:
Missions must not use time delays to artificially extend completion time. Short delays to enhance the story (e.g., "Pause and consider your next move," requiring a 30-second wait) are acceptable, provided they are reasonable and serve a narrative purpose.
5 – Quiz Missions:
Quiz or unscramble missions must include additional creative elements beyond the quiz itself to qualify for approval.
6 – Bonus Missions:
Bonus missions must be independently completable. They cannot share tasks with the main mission.
7 – Content Standards:
Missions must comply with content standards and guidelines, avoiding any offensive material. Refer to the SmallVerse Terms and Conditions for detailed content requirements.
By following these standards, you help ensure missions are engaging, fair, and aligned with the community’s expectations.
